Hi,
I'm interested in knowing what kind of staff support is available to Children's Trust Boards in other LAs - do you just have admin support e.g. taking minutes and arranging papers for meetings, or do you have staff time to take forward projects etc in between meetings? Do you have a 'Children's Trust Manager'? If so what is in their role profile?
Any examples much appreciated

Hi Alice
I am the Partnerships and Planing Officer within the London Borough of Bromley, and the main part of my role is support Bromley's Children's Trust.
We don't have a designated 'Children's Trust Manager' or a dedicated 'Children's Trust Support team', instead I and a couple of my collegues support the work of the Trust alongside our Council tasks.
I am the most Children's Trust focused of my colleagues whereby I support the Trust Board (minutes taking, agenda setting, managing the work programme and reporting mechanisms - including the links with our LSP and 'sister partnerships'); as well as providing strategic support for a number of areas within the Trust, including active involvement, communication (website, key messages, newsletters, etc), and of course commissioning!
We are currently reviewing our team purpose and structure due to retirements and financial constraints, so we may have a different look shortly; but we currently have:
1 x Partnerships and Planning Manager (my boss) - who is responsible for coordinating the development of the Children and Young People Plan
2.5 x Partnerships and Planning Officers - who in total, probably comprise of a total of 1.25 FTE spent on the Children's Trust work
1 x Workforce Development Partnerships and Planning Officer - who is focused on the development of the workforce
I hope this helps. Give me a call (020 8461 7608) if you would like to chat through further.
