Is anyone aware of any innovative commissioning of SLT (outside the pathfinder pilots)?  I'm particularly interested in joint commissioning with LA.

I know you asked this question a while ago but I've only just joined this group. Our Pathfinder in Southampton is actually a phase 1 joint commissioning project with the LA. I'm analysing data and mapping services provided by LA and Health for children with SLCN at the moment. I haven't done anything innovative yet (8 weeks into post) but am learning about some interesting styles of service delivery along the way. Our project covers age 0- end of Early years foundation stage. The innovative Joint commissioning will hopefully follow in April.

At Hertfordshire County Council (HCC), we're working with the commissioning arm of Hertfordshire Community Health Service to develop SLCN services for 0-5s through children's centres as part of the pathfinder.  We've shared data to develop needs analysis to help plan service volume, location and resources, linked together to develop a specification and are currently consulting with children's centres.  I know my manager has already spoken to Jan (who has also replied to your post) about the needs analysis, and my understanding is that, after discussions with our CSP pathfinder link, this may be made available more widely in the near future.
