My Bio

To support the Bromley Children and Young People Trust to fully implement the 'commissioning agenda', we will be using this site as a method of creating a sustainable commissioning approach which allows our commissioners, providers and other key 'commissioning advisers' to link together in new, or strengthen existing, networks.  This will also allow us to signpost to good practice locally, and also nationally.

We will also use the site to direct people to the relevant sections of our commissioning strategy, including our:

  • Aims, principles and processes
  • Active involvement strategy and supporting toolkit
  • Commissioning intentions
  • Workforce development strategy and supporting sources

Bromley's Commissioning Aims, Principles and Processes document, forms the 'back-bone' of our commissioning strategy as it sets out how we will work locally.  Visit www.commissioningsupport.org.uk/cs/media/p/202.aspx for more information.

Our active involvement strategy, Get Involved!, sets out the standards to which we will work to ensure that the voice of children and young people (and their parents and carers) is heard within commissioning.  The strategy's supporting toolkit, The Toolkit, provides a tool to implement the standards.  Visit www.bromley.gov.uk/community/youngpeople/trust/Trustplans/get_involved.htm for more information.

Key to developing our commissioning approach is our emerging Workforce Development Strategy.  To support the implementation of this strategy we have used our YouTube site to publish a range of short videos created by the Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) which form part of the common core induction module.  Visit www.bromley.gov.uk/community/youngpeople/trust/Childrens+Trust+workforce+development.htm for more information.  To view our YouTube site, visit www.youtube.com/bromleychildrentrust.

During the next 12 months we will be working through our Commissioning Strategy Group to set out our commissioning intentions for the Trust partnership.  This will build on the commissioning intentions published by the London Borough of Bromley for 2009/10.  Visit http://sharepoint.bromley.gov.uk/Public%20Docs/12%20CYP%20PH%20200109.doc for more information.

Our Commissioning Strategy Group is also responsible for coordinating the support provided by the Commissioning Support Programme within our Trust partnership.  Visit www.bromley.gov.uk/community/youngpeople/trust/About+Trust/commissioning_strategy_group.htm for more information.

We have also developed a larger stakeholder group, the Commissioning Reference Forum, of representatives from the statutory, private and third sectors, and from across the 'commissioning spectrum', including commissioners, providers and other key 'commissioning advisers' (such as the lead officers for the Children and Young People Plan, Workforce Development, and performance management).   So far, we currently have approximately 70 members of this group.  To help make this Forum more sustainable in the long term, we have developed a 'private group' within this site which allows the members to share good practice and to become the 'owners' of the Forum by deciding what should be on the agenda for future meetings.  Visit www.bromley.gov.uk/community/youngpeople/trust/About+Trust/Commissioning+Reference+Forum.htm for more information.

  • Web-Bulletin Spring 2009

Welcome to the 11th edition of the Web-Bulletin!

You will notice that the Web-Bulletin looks slightly different to the last edition.

We have celebrated the start of 2009 with the launch of our new logo for the Trust.  To coincide with our new logo we have been working hard to give the Web-Bulletin a ‘fresh face’ that we hope will make it clearer to read and digest.

One of the biggest changes that we have made is to produce the Web-Bulletin in a document format rather than old e-mail style.  This change has allowed us to increase the ability of the Web-Bulletin to show images and pictures, including the new logo.

We also hope that the new layout is clearer and easier on the eye.

We have a packed edition again.   We look at the outcomes from our second Trust Forum and from the recent review of our governance arrangements, and some ideas on the further enhancement of our presence on the Internet.  We have also added a new feature, the spotlight, were we look a particular service within the Trust.

We start by looking at our children and young people plan for 2009 to 2011 within inFocus.

We hope that enjoy this edition.  If you have any comments please e-mail them to childrens.trust@bromley.gov.uk.

    See you again soon!
