I am the Senior Partnership and Planning Officer for the London Borough of Bromley, with responsibility for developing the Bromley Children and Young People Trust partnership, and its supporting Children and Young People's Plan.
Along with Terri Walters (Asssitant Director for Strategy and Performance) and Laurence Downes (Strategic Commissioning Manager) I am using this site as a way of developing a sustainable method of spreading the commissioning message within Bromley to support the development and implementation of the Commissioning Strategy Framework across the Trust partnership.
I am also using the CSP website to support the implementation of the new Statutory Guidance for Children's Trusts and the regulations for the Children and Young People's Plan from 2011.
I have a background in Social Care contracting (for both children's and adults services) within Kent County Council and Medway Council, and I have also worked in the Department for Children, Schools and Families Centre for Procurement Performance as part of a support programme for commissioning within children's services.
I have added a number of weekly discussion points to the site, as well as a number of useful pieces of information, to help ignite discussions as a way of sharing good practice. I am also using my journal (or blog) where I share my thoughts and ideas on commissioning, and some updates from the progress that we are making within Bromley. I am also pleased to have been nominated by the Programme as the first 'Expert of the Month' in May 2009.
I am keen to increase the knowledge of how to involve users in commissioning, so if you have any great ideas or example sof good practice, please share through the 'User Involvement' group
