The aim of the Educational Procurement Centre (EPC) programme,
fully funded by the DCSF, is to provide schools with the skills,
tools and support to help them buy better. EPC works across the
schools sector to promote and support more sustainable procurement
practices and effective contract management.
Guide to
forecasting pupil numbers in school-place planning

This guide available from the Teachernet website is for
local authority commissioners involved in planning and organising
school places, particularly those with direct responsibility for
producing pupil forecasts. It suggests ways of improving the
accuracy of pupil forecasts and give examples of good
practice. The guide covers sections on why you need to
produce forecasts, provides guidance on making your projections,
offers advice on taking account of housing developments amongst
others.

Hailsham is a partnership of five schools, one
secondary and four primaries. The secondary school, Hailsham
Community College, was established some time ago as a full service
extended school, and the Partnership has been working together to
build on that experience to offer whole town provision of a range
of services including education.
